These guidelines were prepared and approved by the ASM, working with experienced professional veterinarians and IACUCs, whose collective expertise provides a broad and comprehensive understanding of the biology of non-domesticated mammals in their natural environments. Association of Primate Veterinarians
The Association of Primate Veterinarians (APV) is an international organization with over 400 veterinarian members concerned with the health, care and welfare of nonhuman primates (NHP). The objectives of the APV is to "promote the dissemination of information relating to the health, care and welfare of nonhuman primates; to provide a mechanism by which primate veterinarians may speak collectively on matters regarding nonhuman primates; and to promote fellowship among primate veterinarians."
